October 5-9 2009

 

Hit and Run Accident: On October 6th 2009, Jessie N Steele reported her 2002 Ford Mustang was struck while it was parked in the west parking lot across from the old stadium.

 

Suspicious Persons: On October 9th 2009 two female students reported suspicious males who had followed them to the resident halls.

 

The first incident occurred on October 5, 2009 at about 6:00 PM. The person reported being followed to the resident hall the subject was described as a Hispanic male 5’6 150 pounds wearing tan kaki shorts and a green shirt. 

 

The second incident was reported to have happened on October 9th shortly after midnight. The subject was described as a black male, college age; wearing grey sweatpants and a grey “Hoody” no other description was available.

 

The K-State Police Department will be providing extra patrols in the areas

 

 

Criminal Threat Report: A female student reported being a victim of criminal threat. The case is under investigation.

Theft Reported: On September 29, 2009 KSU Police responded to Ahern Field House for a theft. Several Victims reported miscellaneous items stolen including cash and an Ipod. Total loss is reported at $354.00.

 

 

Recent Thefts is a reminder to secure valuables

 

Over the last few weeks there has been an increase in property crime. It is important to make sure you do not leave offices, study areas and valuables unattended and unsecured. Additionally, please report suspicious people who may be loitering in areas where high value items are located. Theft Reported: Ethan Levine reported his I-Phone was stolen the loss is reported at $400.00

 

Colwynn L Ballenger reported the theft of a parking permit from a university parking lot. The loss is reported at $150.00

 

Minor In possession arrests

Nathaniel E Mick 18: Minor in Possession and Obstruction of the Legal Process.

 

Nicholas J Ruggeri 18: Minor in Possession

 

Jacob W Schroeder 18: Minor in Possession

 

Thomas L Elliot 19: Minor in Possession

 

Driving Under the Influence Arrest

 

Ricardo Guerra was arrested for Driving under the Influence

 

Theft Arrest

Benjamin J Smart was cited for theft of a Handicap Sign.

 

Warrant Arrest

 

Todd B Sillin was arrested for outstanding warrants.

 

Crime Prevention Tips

  1. Always lock your office door when you leave--even for a restroom break.
  2. Take your valuables with you. Do not leave them in your office or at your work space (For example, while doing research in the Library)
  3. Reduce the amount of cash and credit cards you carry with you.

Sept. 22 - Police Report

The Kansas State University Police is investigating the theft of over $6,000 in tools from a storage facility on campus. On September 21, 2009, the Division of Facilities reported that a storage area was entered and several types of tools were stolen. Included in the thefts were air compressors, drills, saws and other tools. Anyone with information about this crime should call the K-State Police Department at 532-6412 and tips can be left at www.ksu.edu/police/silent.

Thefts reported: The Horticulture and Forestry department reported a radio faceplate stolen the loss is reported at $287.00

 

James Lewis reported his bicycle was stolen the loss is reported at $50.00

 

9-16-09: Kelsey T Fagan reported that her backpack was stolen from Seaton Hall. Several items were located in the backpack and the total loss is reported at $620.00

 

9-16-09 Samantha C Smith reported her Ipod and camera was stolen  was stolen from Seaton Hall the loss is reported at $800.00

 

9-16-09 Robert B Broce reported his laptop and I Phone adapter  was stolen from Seaton Hall. The loss is reported at $1,480.

 

9-16-09 Michael D Crosson reported his wallet was stolen from the Chester Peters Rec Center. After the theft if his wallet an unknown person charged items on debit cards the loss is reported at $438.18

 

9-17-09 Jacob W Lebo reported his KSU Parking permit was stolen the loss is reported at $170.00

 

 

9-17-09 Christian L Shultz reported his bicycle was stolen from Eisenhower Hall the loss is reported at $289.00

 

 

9-18-09 The division of facilities reported a burglary to a storage facility several tools and air compressors were stolen the total loss is $1,100

 

9-20-09 Chantiel D Frye reported her bicycle was stolen from Hale Library $120.00

Vehicle Burglaries Reported: On September 12, 2009 Kyle D Welch reported his 2005 Jeep was burglarized and $2,100 worth of gold equipment was stolen.

 

Timothy A white reported his 2000 Honda was burglarized and a calculator and sunglass were stolen the total loss is $90.00

 

Theft from Hale Library

Sharnee L Hudgins reported her cell phone was stolen from Hale Library on September 1, 2009. The loss is estimated at $300.00
